on-lineENGLISH.com is a fully-owned subsidiary of Critical Pedagogy and Technology Consultants Pty Ltd (CPTC), an Australian educational company created in 2003. It was founded by Dr. Ania Lian (full CV, including publications at http://sites.google.com/site/lianania/Home) and Professor Dr. Andrew Lian (full CV, including publications, at http://andrewlian.com/andrewlian/prowww/index.html).
Ania Lian, is the Managing Director of CPTC. She is a consultant on several projects and part-time university lecturer who manages the company's projects as well as this website and the other sites owned by CPTC. She teaches English and German, TESOL/ESL as well as technology for educational purposes (including technology-enhanced language learning or TELL). She is a foreign language teacher-trainer (including ESL and TESOL) and has worked under government-sponsored grants to train teachers of foreign languages, incuidng teachers of Chinese as a foreign language.
Ania has engaged in community work in the area where she lives and, because of her strong interest in ecology, she has initiated and led projects in sustainability, water conservation and recycling. CPTC is closely connected with the Ecotel Motel in Narooma, NSW, Australia and is organising language, culture and ecological tours in collaboration with them (see sidebar on our homepage). Ania also worked for COTA Over 50s (Council on the Ageing) where she conducted research to produce the national newsletter of the National Policy Office (2007-2009), and where she also worked as COTA Over 50s’ Information Technology consultant.
CPTC brings together leading edge educational theory and ICT (Information and Computing Technology) in education, and coordinates the activities of an international team of academic specialists all of whom have a background in university teaching, including Master and Doctoral supervision. They all have doctoral qualifications (PhDs or EdDs). This team engages in consulting and teaching activities using a variety of means of communication: face-to-face, telephone, email, audio an video conferencing. One of the projects developed by that team is on-lineENGLISH.com, which is led by Dr. Ania Lian, Dr. Karinrat Srismith and Professor Dr. Andrew Lian. All members of the leadership team have strong connections with Asia and experience in teaching students from Asia.
